_APPNAME_ does not collect personal information. The app does send minimal usage statistics so I can learn how people are using it, but steps have been taken to ensure the data is not used for any sort of ad personalization or to track you across different services. I cannot link any data to your identity.

#### Find Your Representatives
It takes trust to let an app know your location. If you share your location with _APPNAME_, know that it is sent to a Google server to find your congressional district. Your location is encrypted in transit and is not stored on the server longer than required. Furthermore, _APPNAME_ only requests your location within 1 kilometer of accuracy, and location data is never sent to me (the developer). If you feel uncomfortable with that level of granularity, _APPNAME_ is usually still able to ascertain your congressional district with [precise location](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207092#:~:text=How%20to%20share%20your%20specific%20location) off.

Super PACs are a relatively new phenomenon that allow corporations, unions, and individuals to spend *unlimited* funds supporting and opposing political candidates. The Supreme Court [legalized them in 2010](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._FEC).

Most types of political contributions have spending limits. This helps limit corruption and ensure visible candidates are supported by many people. Because Super PACs have no limits, they are very influential: while candidates can only receive $3,300 per donor, Super PACs regularly spend millions supporting a candidate. As of Feb 2024, Super PACs have spent $211 billion in the 2024 election cycle ([OpenSecrets.org](https://www.opensecrets.org/outside-spending/super_pacs)).

Both parties rely on Super PACs. Super PACs are unable to directly coordinate with political candidates and must disclose their donors, however these rules are often circumvented.
